Goal

To discover the theme of a photograph by writing a new caption for the picture

Activity

Pretend that you are a curator and that you need to write a caption which informs the viewers about the essential information conveyed in the picture.

Writing a caption for a picture.

• Start by writing what you see in the image For e.g I see…
• Expand the idea to idea to what you think the photograph is saying i.e. theme of the photograph for e.g. this photograph says that…
• Revise your writing to create one sentence that described the theme of the picture.
• Now revise the sentences to make sure that your caption is concise and expressed in clear and specific language
